Sunny Beach
Presenting you Sunny Beach - one of the most popular summer resorts found on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
Climate
The climate is mostly Mediterranean with 1700 hours of natural sunshine from May till October and average summer daily temperatures of 27°C. Here visitors enjoy more than 8km long, 30-60 meters wide golden sand frontage, natural dunes, clear sparking water and gently sloping sand bed. The unique combination of calm sea, clear mountain air and sea breeze acts beneficially strengthening the immune system and overall human health.
Transport and distance
The resort is ~40km away from Burgas and ~90km from Varna. There is a regular functioning bus transport to Burgas and Nessebar which takes approx. 40 minutes to reach Burgas and 90 minutes to Varna. Sunny Beach also offers an ecologically clean in-city transport via mini-trains, rickshaws and bicycles.

The complex has more than 500 hotels with capacity of ~110 000 beds, 130 restaurants and numerous live music pubs, nightclubs, casinos, discos, coffees etc...
The resort has gone through a major reconstruction and expansion which caused the rebuilt of the whole hotel base.

Visited mostly by Russian, German, and Bulgarian citizens, recently Sunny Beach also attracts British, Irish, Scandinavian and Serbian tourists.

Bansko
Bansko is one of the best Bulgarian winter resorts, having modern ski center and facilities. During the last years it has developed into a favorite ski&snowboarding destination, thanks to its excellent facilities combined with unique architecture and historical significance.
The resort offers excellent snow conditions with snow cover from December till May, with runs and tracks for all type of skiers. The snowboarders can enjoy the fun park where people do come led by passion of the extreme. Everyday skiers and snowboarders take part in the competitions on the new Shiligarnika slope.
Big screens showing live pictures from the different slopes are based on the starting station of the Gondola so people can have information on the wind and temperature conditions in advance.
Investments
During the last couple of years under a massive investment process it has lots of new hotels and resort facilities, a brand new public area with luxury 4 and 5 stars hotels and holiday apartments. Recently large investment has been made by company Yulen - licensed to manage the skiing area.
Geography
The town is situated nearby the river Glazene, part of Mesta River in the north-eastern part of Pirin Mountain. It is just 160 kilometres away from the capital Sofia. Pirin has Alpine character with its highest peak Vihren - 2914m.
Bansko is located on 925m above the sea level, and its skiing area is on 2000-2600m. Skipists are located in two main ski centres Chalin Valog (1100-1600m) and Shiligarnika(1700-2500m). They are approximately 10km above the town on the northern slopes of Pirin, and are easily accessible for an about of 25 minutes using the Gondola lift. The total length of marked slopes is 65km.
Kamen briag(Stone shore)
A small village belonging to the municipality of Kavarna, Kamen Briag is definitely one of the wildest places in Bulgaria. For a weekend or more to enjoy this marvelous place is a must. Here nature predisposes you towards romantic holly nights around the fire - convenient shelter not only for loving couples but also for funny cheerful companies. Also if you wish to see the sunrise the yearly local July morning fest might interest you - a happening devoted to love celebrated with the famous song of Whitesnake.
Useful directions for the first time visitors
Sunbathe loving enthusiasts must not be scared from the wild rocks - there are tiny walks directly pointing to the sea. It is a real thrill to enjoy the incredible Black sea view straight from the sharp rocks edge, but take care of each other because it's easy to fall down from the cliffs.
If you wish to have a fire you'll probably need some branch timbers but know that there are no such around, so bring some from home together with an old newspaper.
Last but not least: don't forget to take all your garbage out of this virgin place! If we want to keep such places nice and beautiful it is important to act as civilized citizens.
Kibela's ancient temple
Located upon the biggest isle of Durankulak lake is situated the sacred temple of the Great mother Goddess Kibela. It's one of the biggest prehistorical necropolis in the World called by the scientist "The Bulgarian Troy". Roughly 2500 years old the temple is from the late bronze age(IV-III B.C.).
There lays the mighty statue of Kibela - a goddess who had saved its tribe. She was a deification of the Earth Mother and has been worshiped since Neolithic times.Nearby are also the ruins from the oldest and biggest neolithic village in continental Europe where specialists are trying to reveal more light into the oldest Varna gold.
The ancient settlement reveals the finds such as ceramic idol figures picturing women, lots of ceramic pots, labor equipment, deer antler axes, costume jewelry made of golden beads, various golden and copper amulets, spirals etc...
Worth seeing are also the lower layers of the village mound from the start of Vth century B.C.

Bike trip to northen Black sea
Route description in 4 days:
1st Day
The group gathers in Varna where an initial equipment check is done. The additional luggage is being held in a security car and the route begins with an uphill drive to the village of Kamenar. That part of the travel might be not so easy but shortly after comes a smooth 15km. downhill landing to the village of Dolishte, continuing along with the Batova River to the villages of Prilep and Batova. Next stops are Albena and Balchik. Near the botanic garden of Balchik tourists take a rest for a lunch and small walk. The route continues to the Blue Laguna where a night camp is made and everyone could enjoy the night Blacksea views. Nearby there is an easily reachable beach. Total route for the day: 67km.
2nd Day
Going to Kavarna(10km.) then to village of Bulgarevo and cape Kalikra(24km). The following long rest gives an opportunity to take a look at the fortress. Going to the next exceptionally beautiful place: the small shore called Bolata situated northern from the horn giving an opportunity for a swim in the crystal clear sea waters.
Only 10km. further is the archeological reserve "Yailata" is the next nearby campus. Cycling continues on a low class road flowing along the sea. Places of interest in the reservate are the old Vizantium fortress, the cliff church, the Skiths necropolis and various pre-historic houses dug into the vertical shore cliffs. Total route for the day: 45km.
3rd Day
The day starts with visit to small fish restaurant in the Village of Kamen Briag. Locals say that there the best fish soup in the area that could be ordered. Then the group goes to village of Tiulenovo riding on a low class roads near to the very shore. The whole seaside is full with caves and a small island in the sea connected to the mainland by a small cliff bridge - another opportunity to reach the water if the weather allows. Trip continues to the place for the last campus. Total route for the day: 15km.
4th Day
During the last day the trip goes back to Varna, through the shortest road. The length equals 90km taken for 7-8hours in moderate tempo.
Requirements: Good overall physical condition, endurance and skill in bicycle riding
Compulsory equipment: Small bag pack; Comfortable shoes for bicycling and walking; Raincoat; Wind proof thermo fleece; Bicycle;
Provided: a road-trip guide, safety car holding the luggage; tents;
